Gerty was limping because i hadn't noticed her long nails - she's an old lady now. Used these clippers which she didn't protest about too much. Now she's running about like a puppy. These are a little chunky but it makes them easy to hold. There is a safety catch to keep them closed that you can release one handed. The safety guard which can be slid into place limits the depth of cut, making it difficult to accidently cut too much off. Once our cat knew what was going on, we were able to clip all his nails within the space of just five minutes. You don't really want to be taking too much of their nail off, which is where this product helps prevent with moveable guard to stop more of your cats nail being cut of than you intended to. Alike I've previously mentioned, just five minutes we clipped all his claws!
