The Canon VIXIA HF G30 Full HD Camcorder shoots 1920 x 1080p Full HD video at 60 fps in either AVCHD or web-friendly MP4 format. It also supports Native 24p Progressive Mode recording which will give your footage a more cinematic look. You can use built-in Cinema-Looks Filters to enhance that film look as well. The HF G30 is equipped with a Genuine Canon 20x HD Video Lens with an 8-Blade Circular Aperture for more professional-looking video and stills. The lens provides a 26.8 - 576mm (35mm equivalent) focal length and a manual focus ring that can easily be set to control the zoom instead. Excellent Professional Quality Camera
This camera is packed with features, HD video in 2 formats, slots for 2 x SD Cards, capable of spreading the recording over both cards when the first one gets full. Sound quality from the on-board mics isn't great and to be honest they pick up handling noise of the camera so use external mic/mics. All controls are intuitive and well placed for ease of use, touch screen is very sensitive and easy to use, battery life isn't great so if you are buying one get the high capacity batteries - word of caution here, the batteries are 'Chipped' so make sure that the ones you buy will work in the G30, G10 batteries do not work, not sure about the G20/25's. Viewfinder is articulated and has diopter adjustment. All in all this is a great camera that is just the right size, nicely laid out and packed with a host of features. HD Prosumer Camcorder
The HF G30 is an easy to use feature laden prosumer camcorder. Use it in auto mode and forget doing anything except hitting record and using the zoom. Or use the manual mode and tweak every aspect of the feature set... I highly rate the HF G30 and love the WiFi capability to be able to view and control recording remotely, a cool and excellent aspect of this camcorder. Could it be better?
