My ears are tickled pink
The Charge 5 has a great range of sound; both highs and lows. I compared it with the Charge 4 and overall, I preferred the 5. Personally I feel that it was a bit too expensive even buying a refurbished unit. My first one was new and for whatever reason, it was less expensive than this second, used one. I searched all types of sites, this one was the least expensive I could find and it was still $30 higher. Great speaker but affected with my optical mouse.
The sound is great, I love JBL products, but I sadly realized that the sound quality is affected by my optical mouse. When I was using for the first time my JBL speaker I suddenly notices that the sound was terrible, as if there was a false-contact in the sepaker, so I increased and reduced the volume trying to isolate the problem but I didn't notice any change. So I decided to use my JBL partybox on-the-go instead, and no problem at all, and no other speaker had failed in terms of sound quality, only my new Charge5. Then, I thought that my bluetooth dongle could be causing such a failure but when I turned off my optical mouse I realized that the sound became great such as in the other speakers. I tried several times this test with the mouse and my JBL and I was convinced that my optical mouse interferes with my JBL Charge5 speaker. Too sad for me, but... what can I do? I will stop using my optical mouse when enjoying my music, or definitely I will use my other speaker, instead. But... great sound, anyway. Best small speaker even over Bose with benefit!!
I have 5 adult boys, one a musician, who love music. They are careless and have left one out in the rain (not this new one! which I gifted to my son who left his Bose outside overnight in some drizzle and it did not work the next morning), They are drop resistant as well as water proof. The sound is as good as the Bose which is not water proof or able to be dropped. They are great when outdoors cooking over the fire with family around eating dinner and excellent music sound. What a great little speaker! It's smaller than I thought it would be but it's loud and clear, believe me. The smallness makes it very easy to transport and the usb-c makes it super easy to charge. Fantastic Bluetooth Speaker
This is the best portable Bluetooth speaker out there. I have owned others, but this far surpasses all of them in terms of quality and immersive sound. There is also an EQ app to adjust the sound to your liking. It pairs quickly with my devices and I haven’t even gotten close to maximum volume, that’s how loud the JBL Charge 5 is. Sound Quality is Awesome!
Not only is the product itself solidly built, but the sound quality is awesome and beyond my wildest expectations. When cranking it up, the entire room is filled with crystal clear high frequencies and booming low frequencies.
