Rugged and Flexable
The Super Gainer Antenna covers an ultra wide frequency range not found in most, it is designed for Rx reception only, and not recommended for Tx mode in fear of damaging the transceiver. I was surprised to find when turning down the RF gain by half on my ICOM R20, still brought in a decent signal. This is the second one I have bought. It works well with my Uniden UBC-3500XLT. It will work great with any hand held scanner radio that has a BNC antenna connector. Very good build and improved reception... Curiosity killed my previous Watson 901 antenna of the same build....I decided to dismantle it and it was very well made...the plastic housing has a brass core and coil on a nylon base inside as well as a capacitor, the main element is a tight wire torc....virtually bombproof....lt was far better internally than I expected.
