Old original is the best!!
The Olay regenerist all night recovery cream is a truly outstanding product. Those of you that purchased the No 7 Prep and Prime years ago, when people were queuing way back out of the shop to get the product, will feel a similarity in the way the product immediately makes your skin feel velvety soft. It really is an amazing product - thick and lush, yet disappears into the skin to do the most good. However - and this is the bad news - the product that I'm reviewing is the original type that Olay did (packaged in a pale lilac colour pot). This was replaced by their new product, with a very similar name. The new face cream (which has been out for probably two or three years), is in a white pot. Sadly that's not the only difference, the most important thing is the product itself. It's horrid, in my opinion - and that's what I've been asked to give in this review, so here goes ......... the new product is a greasy, obnoxious substance, that far from making one's skin feel velvety, it makes it feel that you've coated your face with a soft, lardy type cream. It doesn't sink into the skin, and is still laying on the surface in the morning. I wouldn't use it if it was given to me! I mistakenly purchased three pots from eBay, in an attempt to stock up on the original item. I haven't used them on my face, and won't be doing so. I’ve used Olay for years so I bought this to see if it lived up to the hype. I’m in that menopausal phase and have a medical condition so sometimes my skin needs a boost. This was fantastic I put it on before bedtime and felt it sink in. The next day was skin felt amazing,smooth,plump,moisturised and has evened out my skin tone.
