A true professional mitre saw for workshop and on-site use
This was purchased to replace a previous machine stolen a few years back which put me out of action until a short while ago. I decided on this model due to a number of factors.
1: Cordless - No cables to worry about.
2: Bluetooth connectivity - customise settings for the saw and save them, monitor battery health, etc.
3: Ease of operation - Glide feature and overall design make this more suited to my needs.
4: Lighter than the corded model.
5: Works in conjunction with other bosch kit I use.
6: Based on reviews from other users.
One of the best selling features is the fact that it is a space saving machine. Compared to other mitre saws where the bars protrude from the rear, meaning you need over 1m working area from front to back before operator, this takes up less, can be placed flush to a wall, etc. This was one of my major considerations. This, with the ProCORE 12AH batteries works out as the best solution, you can use any of the ProCORE batteries and even the older coolpack series batteries, but the coolpack batteries will give less run time, but if you're in a sticky situation where a battery has run out, then a coolpack 5ah or so will get you through. This features speed selections and an eco mode which really does help. If you're serious about buying a saw that's going to look after you, whether on the job site where power isn't easy to get access to, or you're a kitchen fitter / cabinet maker / joiner, this is the machine for you. I would recommend that you do the following... Build this as a package with your supplier, like I've done with FFX. GCM18v-350 saw + GTA3800 leg stand (don't bother with the GTA2500 unless you're only doing short runs), wheel kit for the GTA3800 and your choice of ProCore battery system, whether it's the 12AH or 8AH set which I'd recommend either of. The last bit I'd say would be the bosch GAS18v-10l dust extractor. you can use this as a portable extractor with an 8AH or 12AH ProCORE battery for effective dust control.
