A little different
I’m used to the 5 series shaver and although this is a 5 according to Braun, it’s more like a 5a type. By comparison it is much quieter, the head is maybe the slightest bit larger, but is definitely more of a “floating” head that softly depresses against your face, giving a close shave. It is very ergonomic in your hand and easy to use. Lastly, it cleans by only tapping the head to shake out the cuttings and then brushing the rest away. You can also clean it by washing it with water. Only minus is you have to change the head to attach a trimmer blade- it doesn’t pop up as on the 5 series shaver.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Not a good choice if you don't shave every day.
I only shave every 2 or 3 days (I'm retired and can get away with that). Unfortunately, if I do that this razor does not cut all the beard growth and leaves hairs. You have to go over repeatedly, or in my case, go over with my old Norelco I wanted to replace. If I shave again the next day, I am happy with this Braun, otherwise it is a disappointment. Works well, easy to hold and use even with limited use hands. Quiet, fast shave. Not as close as some but no neck rash issues. so far so good. Not sure what the " recharging stand" is as it just plugs into the wall with a cord...charged quickly. Get a spare head when you purchase one!
Braun make top shelf products. That's why we returned. Why not 5 stars? We wish their longevity was as high. Most shavers we've purchased have no parts (esp heads) available, and if so, are so highly priced you just as well but the newer model. I am holding both the razor and its removable head in this picture in my hand. The head just pops right off and snaps back on for use. Easy to clean
This is a great, Great Razor!!! It must be charged for the night or a few hours when you first get it though. You don't need to leave it plugged in though. Once it has been charged fully, you will have several days worth of power. It is very quiet, it gives a really close shave and it is really smooth on the face. In addition, it is very simple to clean. You can removed the guard and it reveals the blades of the razor. You just run some water over the blades and it removes the hair clippings.
