Not sure how long it will last
A great cage for my syrian. However, i covered the 2 floors in fablon.... as i can imagine how quickly it could get smelly from wee. I also painted it white so it fits well in my lounge. It was a nightmare to put together as the instructions are horrendous.... However i found it easy to watch the video on amazon. Its only been a few days .... so lets see how long it lasts. Honey isnt really a chewer.....so hopefully she won't escape. Also, i found the top platform dangerous. so i removed it. I also added in 2 extra platforms.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not fit for purpose
I purchased this (my daughters choice) as it looked roomy and a nice piece of furniture. It arrived damaged, the company gave a small amount to repair. One day over six months later and following around 10 repairs to the wooden structure in various places, the hamster has finally chewed a hole right through the door and frame. Not well designed, nothing to prevent sawdust falling out of doors. Chewable with nothing to stop the hamster chewing straight through. Prepare to double to cost of this item with all the wood needed to make repairs to keep your hamster secure.

Great space for my syrian hamster
Really good cage, I would rate 5 star but difficult to assemble as instructions were slightly different to actual product and not in detail but eventually got there! As others have mentioned no easy way to attach water bottle. You can see in photo how I attached mine with leftover screws and a wired water bottle wrapped around - does the job. My hamster is comfortable climbing up and down levels with no problems however she has started biting wooden panels inside despite having a load of chews but that's what you'll get with a wooden cage and a nibbley hamster. I've had it a few weeks and overall I really like the cage and so does my hamster, it has a lot of space to move around, climb and hide and it's enjoyable to watch my hamster through as it's clear perspex style glass. Also if you need a wheel i'd recommend Trixie wooden wheel (22cm or larger) to fit the wood theme and it's very quiet almost silent.

Mice love their new home
My daughter used her Christmas money to buy this for her mice and it is amazing, they have so much room and love their new home. Found it quite easy to put together although took a little while but was well worth it I’m even considering buying another! Would highly recommend

Hamster unit
The unit is fiddly to put together I suggest you take a good look at the picture and throw away the instructions start at the bottom and work up as you can see my hamster is very happy and making a mess you’ll also need to be made aware you’ll need to make modifications if you your pet uses a water bottle Other than that nice unit and is worth the reduced price

Good but be careful
This is good product for the price but it's not great for hamsters. Hamsters need to burrow, and I bought this thinking I would be able to change the doors to the top halfs so I could fill the base with bedding but unfortunately not. I have changed it so the bottom is full with bedding, there is tape along the edge and we only access our hamster though the top. To clean, we remove the hamster and toys, to tilt it over a bin bag then release the bottom latch to dump the bedding She also chewed quite a bit in a short time but she hasn't chewed though, so I guess it depends on the personality, but I feel this may be better for mice than hamsters?Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Hamster heaven!
This is a great house for a hamster. The only downside is that it’s not the easiest thing to build. It’s really spacious and less messy as bedding and sawdust stays more or less contained. I’d definitely recommend but be prepared to spend time building it! It even fits one of the huge freestanding wheels inside. Drilling a small hole for the water bottle in the side was the best option we found

Fantastic cage my hamster loves it

Dwarf hamsters love it!
