Handy little pump
This is a small pump that's easily hidden away behind your tank. It sits on four pointy little rubber feet that help prevent it sliding about but it also has a useful little ring in case you want to hang it instead. It's not that quiet, but then it isn't advertised as a 'silent' pump. A length of tubing, an airstone and a non-return valve are also included in the price so it's great value. Mine is the 550 model with single outlet and small capacity. You'll need one of the more expensive models if you have a larger tank or need more than one output.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good but needs air inlet modification to get full power.
Fairly quiet, works well to drive wooden airstone for old school protein skimmer, only had to modify air inlet and put a hole in the body to allow air in (to my surprise there was no inlet air hole? which also made it quieter as not struggling for air) now works way better and have to turn air down to get skimmer to work perfectly. Fantastic value, high performance, very quiet
Perhaps other people had duff units, but for the price this puts out plenty of air (I have to throttle it back) and is much quieter than the pump it replaced. Some other people say they're noisy, but I agree with most positive reviews - that the bubbling drowns out the slight hum from the unit. Hidom air pump
Needed an air pump to power a sponge filter in my 12ltr nano tank. Works as it should however the noise is very very loud. The unit has rubber feet which are no help in reducing the noise. Bought this as a stand alone unit for a goldfish bowl. It is anything but silent and wanders across the worktop until it hits the tiles and then sits sounding very loud vibrating against the worktop and tiles. Works ok but certainly not a silent pump!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
