Does what it says on the tin with very minor, non-technical alterations

Office AC broken and the landlord couldn't give a damn? No room for traditional mobile AC unit? No access to put a hose into the back of your traditional mobile AC unit - don't want to waste a constant stream of water? Want to spend around £99 instead of £350+ ? Well get yourself one of these. Our office landlord wouldn't fix our AC so we're using one of these instead. I have marked down that this is energy efficient but I'm thinking about both water and energy here. It only uses one little tank of water (6 litres I think?) for about 8 hours of cool air. I'm not sure on its electrical efficiency, it probably isn't stellar but not awful either (just AVERAGE). It makes up for that by not needing a hose and being so gosh darn cheap. It comes with two ice packs to float in the water tank. I added SIX more ice packs (cheap plastic ones from Amazon) and I put all 8 in, then fill over with water right to the very top of the tank. If you do that, you will be a VERY happy customer. If you neglect to add additional ice units, your water will probably be warm and thus the machine won;t do a good job. Running it how I run it, it's keeping a medium sided office room with like 10 people in pretty cool. I'm gonna' be honest here I'm VERY happy with this. Just stuff extra ice packs in, don't use it as-is out of the box. Also: Don't use the wheels / coasters. Keep in non-wheeled and mount it up on an office shelf, it does a MUCH better job when seated a bit higher up. A+ item, collect one for your office or bedroom. Don't spend £350 / £500 on a traditional mobile AC unit and then struggle with the hose (which will use loads of water anyway) - just get THIS. Even though it looks slightly tacky, it actually works ok and the casing (whatever it is, either ultra-hard plastic or some kind of metallic-polymer hybrid) is solid and sturdy. With the tank out or un-filled, it's actually amazingly light. Why are you still reading this? Pick one up. NOW!

Ok, but expensive for what it does

Air flow from fan is ok, the water tank is not detachable so cannot be filled from a sink, it cycles water to the top of the unit so if on a slightly uneven surface it will spill. Doesn't really blow much cool air around, even with the ice packs in the water tank. Fail to see how this would cool a small office. I now use it in our box room which is just about cools down but barely. Because the water tank is not detachable it means the water cannot be refreshed with colder water. 2/5 wouldn't buy again. Get a pifco instead.

  • A handy cooler

It's been an unbearable few weeks. Been so hot can't sleep, so thought I'd buy this. Oh my gosh it's marvellous! 3 fan settings, the lowest is better than my other max settings fan. You can load with cool water in a large tank, and you switch to make it cool. It oscillates and there are vents which you can move. It has a water level on the front, and also a panel which clearly shows what settings are on. Also there is a remote control! So basically it's an amazing alternative to AC!

  • Just what I needed!

Smaller than expected, and slightly odd that fan only blows from right of the vent, but does great job so far, although of course not had any excruciating temperatures since I acquired it!! Very pleased, smart looking and lightweight.

  • A waste of money.

It works but isn't quiet enough at night and a bit tricky when you have to fill & refill the tank. Would have been better if the tank was fitted in the front as this would prevent the risk of spillages in the space. You also cannot see the water level on the front. Would not recommend it to friends or purchasing it again.

  • Great value Cooler

WOW, Bought this two days ago, put it in a very hot sitting room , within a few minutes the room had cooled down, we could sit comfortably with nice cool air. It's very quiet, just put water in, plug in and a nice cool environment. I would highly recommend this product it's well worth the money.

  • Amazing product

ITs very powerful and offer lots of various settings, e.g breeze where it goes off and and mimics a breeze. Quiet mode of night time, there is just so much you can do. Easy to move around. I have yet to find anything I don't like. Delivery was super quick and arrived on time and in perfect condition. I would say it is extremely good value and would highly recommend it.

  • Cool air

Simple and easy to use, up and running within 2 mins of opening the box. So much better than just a fan.

  • Cooler

Great cooler. just what I needed. A bit weird that the cold air comes from the right of the cooler. A bit noisy but just what I need in this hot weather
