A must have addition, despite all its small flaws
I bought a second Pizza Rack before it's totally gone, given the current situation. My first one is installed in my '19 Kona Sutra, and I must say is one of the best additions to it.
My bike came with a rear rack, light and apparently durable, but its small surface and cheap construction convinced me to just get rid of it and sell it. Tried and tested a Tubus Cargo rear rack, awesome btw, but the fact the weight is put behind you made me understeer and even lift the front end at times, ending up on dangerous/uncomfortable situations.
One day I was on google looking for cool gravel bikes for collecting ideas, and came to these Specialized Awol bikes, which were very appealing for this Pizza rack up front. Later on, I saw some reviews from people trying cargo racks up front and their impressions ended up convincing me this was THE option.
I must say the install process is trial and errorz as these racks were designed for a specific bike, and the rack/bike interface is a give and take of many minutes of calculations.
4 months after the buy and many uses to carry my eBay products from the listing to the shipping, everything is been smiles. The front loading gives me more control and makes me steer with more predictability, but I needed to do some adjustments to my bike, which took me a while to figure out (shorter stem, wider drop bars, more flare on the bars) and everything is going smooth so far.
I won't give 5 stars only because the install was a PITA and also, the lacking mounting hardware to the fork is unforgivable and the aluminum plate doing the joint to the fork is super weak! Also the black finish is not anodized, is just paint and chips easily.
Hope this review helps you guys! Cheers from Santiago, Chile
