Excellant for making chips if you follow this , Make fresh chips from maris piper potatoes the day before , Leave in water overnight, Use Sunflower oil, Dry off chips before cooking , Cook on full power for 5 minutes, Let chips drain and rest on side of cooker for 4 minutes (they carry on cooking ) Cook on full power for 3 more minutes , PERFECTVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice and compact but the handle is rubbish!! It comes loose when you shake the chips and when you tip the chips into a bowl. It’s actually dangerous!! The lid doesn’t sit on right either. Wish I hadn’t put the oil in I would be sending it back.

I haven't cleaned this item yet so cannot give you a definite yes or no answer. The item is easy to use but personally I noticed, compared to my last one that I had been using for several years, the basket and handle are quite difficult to separate and you have to let it cool down before attempting to do it. Simple and easy to use. I am originally from Yorkshire, where they make the best chips anywhere in the world! I now live in Cornwall, where they don't. So after doing lots of research, I bought my wife this deep fat fryer...... and it (and she) makes the most wonderful chips that I have had since I moved from Yorkshire 20 years ago!
