Great protection, suitable substitute!
My holygrail sunscreen is ULTRASUN Professional Protection’s “SPF 50+ UVA 95%, Face, Tinted moisturising Anti-Ageing sun protection.” I loved the high protection, lightly creamy consistency, non-irritating ingredients, safe sunscreen filters/coatings, and the cosmetic elegance. I live in the USA and for quite some time I could no longer find anyone selling the “honey” version. While looking for it i stumbled across this one. In spite of the labeled similarities I was reluctant to try this “Ultralight, Face Fluid, Daily tinted moisturising anti-ageing UV defense fluid” version; I dislike change, I was skeptical about the consistency, I had/have some concern over why the sunscreen filters are in a different ratio, & you get 10ml less per bottle! The original remains my preference between the two but I’m happy I caved and gave it a try. This is really not TOO much different than the original version. I LIKE; that the tint appears accurate, the sunscreen filters used are the same, UV/IR protection is apparently the same & it doesn’t clog my pores at all even if you reapply it like makeup. A benefit of this over the original is its almost impossible for it to become greasy even with multiple fresh layers. I DISLIKE; the runnier consistency (but it’s still easy to apply/spread), the original wasn’t very moisturizing to begin but this one seems to be even less so (definitely moisturize before hand), and that the ultralight consistency requires an extra layer to get a decent makeup-like light coverage (you may want to add concealer makeup on obvious blemishes after it dries). Of the face sunscreens i own right now this is my favorite but I’ll have to use my others slightly more often since this bottle is smaller than the original but not any more affordable. It’s not a good value but the high quality makes me not regret the purchase, ie( worth the price if their original AntiAging sunscreen is your FAVORITE sunscreen and you can’t obtain it. Overall it satisfies all my “needs” & most of my “wants”. It’s a 4.5-to-5 star (great-to-excellent) product compared to most other SPF 50/SPF50+ sunscreens on the market but when compared to ULTRASUN’s original “SPF 50+ Tinted Honey, sun protection” I can only give it a 4 (good) because I’m quite picky.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
