Perfect Weatherproof box for storing 4 way adaptor, plug and a timer requiring additional depth
I needed a weatherproof box to put plugs in with a 4 plug adaptor but also and importantly timers which must be kept dry, the timers added at least 25mm height to the adaptor and plug already present and i,needed a deeper box, this was it, in addition some boxes you feed the cables through holes meaning they cannot be connected to a plug for example, this box the cables drop into open slots meaning the cable can be connected both ends. HIGHEST QUALITY, BEST VALUE, DON'T BUY ANY OTHER MAKE OF OPEN/CLOSE WEATHERPROOF BOX
This is the third outdoor weatherproof power connection box I have bought. The first two were pretty rubbish. This is the danger of online shopping when you don't know much about what you are shopping for and my web searches turned up nothing to help guide me. So I had to buy whatever the searches offered, hoping they would be OK. The first lasted a few months before the clasp broke rendering it open to the elements. The second turned out to be unable to be placed on it's side - so I could not mount it on the wall as I wanted; the rain will get in. After a very long time trawling through the search returns, varying my search terms I finally turned up this enclosure. Wearily hopeful that my third attempt to weatherproof my outside connection (which I need to be open/close) would deliver up decent kit, I placed the order. My delight as I opened the pack surprised even me - after all it is just a plastic box. But someone has clearly thought about the design of this product and then made sure the build quality meets that design:- Sturdy and rugged A proper clasp that looks as though it will withstand heavy use Cable seals designed to actually hold the cables in place (with the previous two - every time you open the box, the cables move out of place and the plugs fall out) Self adhesive fastener to hold plugs/sockets in place Seal all round - so you can mount it any which way Fixings to let you mount it vertically on a wall - without a jury rig. My only criticism is that the front cable seal and support has to be removed in order to take a plug/cable out. This means there is a risk of losing it (take it out, fiddle around with the electrics, get called away, have to pack up in a hurry - you get the picture.In fact, I have to mount my box on the side of a canal - so I risk it falling in there!) and so making the box useless. I recommend that the next version has this support on a hinge or a retaining tie so it can be undone without being detached.
