If you live in a hilly area, you may be looking to extend your range of gear ratios to take some of the grunt out of your daily ride. Until SRAM Apex, your only option was to mount a clunky triple to your bottom bracket. Apex uses a 11-32 cassette which gives your double a greater range than most triples. The mid-cage SRAM Apex Road Rear Derailleur accommodates this greater range and it gives you Exact Actuation technology for precise shifting that won't go out of adjustment after one ride.

SRAM 00.7515.070.000 mid cage 10 speed deraillier review
I bought this mid cage rear mech for my road bike so that I could add a 11-32T cassette .The existing Shimano Dura Ace short cage deraillier would only stretch to an 11-28T cassette . The SRAM Mid cage is well made and works perfectly with the new 11-32T Shimano Deore XT cassette that I have now fitted and would even work with a 11-34T if needed. Somerset and Dorset are quite hilly and increasing years and deteriorating health and fitness have taken their toll. This rear mech has provided an economical solution and enabled me to get out more and still enjoy my bike .
