Picture Quality
Gave it only 4 stars due to 4-3 aspect very small in size compared to other aspects.I have it ceiling mounted at 12 feet distance and only around 60 inches in size at 4-3 aspect.16-9 aspect is around 116 inches at same distance.Old projector I had at same distance would be 110 inches 4-3 aspect ratio.Has very good picture and brightness and one good feature is the dual IR eyes for the remote.One in front and one on the top which is nice for ceiling mounting.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Heated Optoma HD27
I feel the lamp (bulb) for the device runs a lot warmer than the Optma projector I had purchased 5 years ago, so I feel it will detour the life of it. Also there is no cooling fan, once you start the shut down process, so it does not cool the unit prior to complete shut down. Great Projector
The HD 27 is not only a good projector for the $ it is a good projector---period! I bought it to replace an HD20 that finally died after 7 years and 3 lamps which I had been happy with. The HD 27 is brighter, quieter, and has excellent image quality, plus I was able to re-use the ceiling mount and cables that were already in place so install was super easy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Mostly yummy.
Love it so far. It has more rainbow effect than I'm used to. Some projectors run the color wheel twice as fast to reduce this effect in single chip projectors. But apparently Optoma doesn't do that on this one and it takes a bit of getting used to. Not a dealbreaker, though.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great hd image. Responsive for interactive gaming (16ms lag vs 32 on the 143x) my family loves movie nights! The hd27e has longer bulb life i believe, but the cheaper price offsets this difference.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
