Heavy/Good Quality
This washing machine drip pan is much better quality than the cheap pans at local retailers. The ones at the local retailers were thin and brittle, the material in this one is over 1/8" thick and has enough flexibility that it doesn't break if accidentally hit. The cost of this pan over one of the cheaper ones at a local retailer was about 33% more, but I'm sure it will outlast several of the cheaper thinner/ brittle pans making it much cheaper in the long run. I recommend everyone getting a drip pan installed underneath their washing machine and water heater. I recently had a water heater leak and didn't have a drip pan installed, current damage estimates are nearing $25,000. to my home and hidden damages are still being uncovered. Very cheap insurance against thousands of dollars worth of damages and having your home torn apart and turned upside down if your washing machine springs a leak. I'm putting a drip pan under both my washing machine and water heater as part of the repairs, I don't want to go through this again!! Getting estimates, dealing with the insurance company and getting the repairs done will probably end up being a minimum of 3-4 months from the time I found the leak.
