I have been using dbx products to restore the dynamic range of my audio systems since the 80's. Compression is so common on most recordings and the dbx adds back a little of the dynamics of a live performance.
First time I listen to one of these was when I was in collage, Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street was playing on it, I had a tough time listening to that song in particular afterwards. Able to buy one later and found that this brought more life to my LP's in general. Some music I found did not require a range expander but most I enjoyed more with it.
I’m old skool and I have tape systems (reel-to-reel) and I have to say that this will truly make a difference. It performs well with today’s technology as well,
Had this originally when it first came out in the 80's. Very happy to have it back in my system again. Restores the "punch" to records and CD's giving them new life.
