Buy this - Don’t bother with mouse trap!
I put out 7 of these rat traps and one mousetrap around the warehouse. After the weekend, I returned to find two traps with one rat each, but ONE trap had THREE RATS stacked on each other! It had zapped all of them! After my rat problem was mitigated, the rat traps continue to kill small mice, so I see no need to invest in both trap formats. The WiFi doesn’t reach as far as my phone, so I’m still venturing about the warehouse making “trap rounds,” even though my phone has WiFi connectivity. I also bought the “walk the plank” style traps (both rat and mouse formats) and have had zero success while set up next to these electronic ones. I really wish it would work.
To me, this trap was not easy to set with wifi. Once set, it has only notified me that it has gone off-line (after 24 hours) and needs to be reset. I have tried it in different locations. I have actually seen a critter near it. I haven't had time to follow up with the manufacturer. This is the second trap of this type I have bought. The first one (ebay) was defective in that the power lights didn't work and it kept going off saying it had caught something when it was actually empty. I don't know if it was just not zapping or a false notification. I received my money back on that one. Yes even without the WiFi it still works!
Just caught my first mouse! 12/14/19 at 3:33pm You can hear it while zapping the rodent. So I don’t need WiFi to use this! Great purchase and I highly recommend this for anyone who has a rodent issue.

1st night 1 kill.
Ok so it’s a bit of a pain to connect to phone app! But this thing works. Rats were getting into my dogs food bowl. So rather then peanut butter . I placed a trail of dog food from the entrance to the rear of trap. Woke up to phone msg from victor trap1 kill . Checked trap sure enough there the monster was. Walked out to outdoor trash can . Turned the open side to dump. Reset trap looking for kill 2. Highly recommend this victor M2 killer. I would like to add because I could never find it anywhere. Need to be close to wifi router
