Review of the 2017 Music On CD release of Nite Flights
After searching high and low for a decent physical copy of this album, and discounting an original vinyl pressing (too expensive), the vinyl re-release (sound quality of modern re-pressings can be a minefield, and the vinyl re-release market is a con, pure and simple), and the MP3 download (doesn't feel like I actually own anything), I stumbled on a very recent CD release by Dutch company Music On CD.
The booklet is a faithful recreation of the gatefold sleeve on the vinyl (see photos), and as such includes the lyrics for, and who played what on each song. The sound quality is also very good, sounding clear and balanced without being excessively loudened up (although as I don't own any serious audio equipment, I can't comment on how dynamic a mix it is).
So this is definitely worth a purchase if you're in the same predicament as I was, and can find it at a decent price.
