    Gives Fantastic Results

This yeast is excellent. It gives amazing results in my wholemeal bread loaves and butter croissants. Far better than anything you can buy in the supermarket. It goes a long way but I freeze the bulk of it and take out a small tubful at a time. That way, the yeast stays as fresh as the day I opened it right to the last spoonful. I have been using this brand of yeast for over a year and would not choose anything else now I have experienced such huge success with it. Fantastic value too.

  • Most critical review

Not as good as I hoped.

Couldn't get it to activate properly. My bread was not so good using this, sorry, I like to give good reviews, it did work but just not as well as my usual yeast. Perhaps my expectations were too high, I was expecting something more than my usual shop bought yeast.

  • Does what I want it to do

It's yeast for my bread making machine. I couldn't buy my usual brand, all the supermarkets and on line suppliers had sold out. I have decanted some off into my usual brand's tin. The rest I have sealed in its packaging and a freezer bag. I have stashed it in my fridge. It will be interesting to see how well it keeps. The portions I have used work perfectly well, as good as my usual brand. If it keeps ok in the fridge I may well purchase this product again from eBay in preference to my usual brand. 500g is a useful amount to have in stock at home. Not sure whether or not it's good value. It's difficult to compare under the present circumstances. There does seem to be some variationin price, even on eBay

  • Fermipan Red instant yeast

In the time of lockdown flour and yeast was hard to get hold of. All yeast prices were inflated. This was a relatively good bargain but was right near it's best by date. It worked fine and produced a fast rise and a good crumb .The vacuum packaging had worked well. It left no flavour and was slightly better than my usual brand. I'd recommend it but with a longer end date if possible.

  • Don't let the pizza photo fool you!

instant dried yeast 500g size, bought in this larger amount than what's available at supermarket, kept in fridge and used as needed. Lasted about one year, two homemade bread and one pizza made weekly.

  • It has risen to the occasion!

I have been baking my own bread now for nearly three years and I had nearly run out of dried yeast and had been unable to get anymore of yeast due to the lack of supplies locally (lock down 2020). I had been checking out dried yeast available online and I finally found the Fermipan brand, which is produced in the UK. In the two weeks since buying a 500gm packet I have used this yeast in quite a few loaves so far. The loaves have risen well and it makes a delicious tasting loaf that keeps fresh for several days if not sort out and eaten up within the day by my family. After use, I always reseal the top of the yeast packet and then store it in a sealed container. I will definitely be seeking out this brand again.

  • Excellent product

This brand of yeast is great, started using it when the lockdown began last March when I couldn't find my usual brand. Won't change back now. I really recommend trying it.

  • Rising Star

I use this yeast and have done since I returned to home baking last year. I make bread twice a week and use 6-8 g of Fermipan yeast each time. This is my second 500g packet. I use it with strong white flour, organic wholemeal, or various mixtures thereof. I sometimes add rye flour, oats, seeds, fruit and spices, even cheese and onion. I use 65% hydration whatever the flour and prove the dough to no more than double; which usually takes around 45 minutes at 40-50 deg C. If I want to delay baking l prove at room temperature. Over proving reduces the oven spring and lessens the effect of slashing baguettes, say. It can also cause your bread to actually shrink in the oven. With Fermipan yeast the dough can easily reach 3 or 4 times original volume so watch it doesn't escape all over your kitchen! I don't know if different yeasts taste different ( they do in beer) but I give my bread to family and friends and it is universally admired. I would wholeheartedly recommend Fermipan with the caveat that widely different prices are available; so buyer beware.

  • Reliable product.

I have used this produced before so I was aware of its quality. If you wish to make a loaf to be proud of, start with good ingredients, this yeast fills that criteria.

  • The quality is excellent as is the low price

.I was amazed at how good quality this is for such a large quantity at a price that beats all the competition. I used the yeast to make rolls and a wholemeal loaf. One in the conventional oven and one in a bread-making machine. It proved perfectly good strong acting yeast and so I decanted what I need for now and put the jar in the fridge to keep it fresh. The rest is in an airtight container now in the dark in a storage cupboard. Best to keep it away from bright light to prevent it weakening. Fine product and really good value. 5 stars it has to be.
