Good, some may have problems
Bought this to replace a broken 510usb capture device, it had done 12 years of high use service to me, just blew. Both studio 12 and 19 recognised this. Installed 15 and it recognised it straightway too. However, set up win10 ver22, it dropped lots of frames on any/all the 3 studio versions. After a long time looking up problem the only working answer I found was from a pinnacle guy who said go to downloads on their site and get studio for dazzle (free). Result it drops 5 frames at the start of the record and no more after that. Success. Then the resulting file can be edited in any studio version. Overall good, but not as good as the 510usb in my opinion. No other reviewers seem to have the dropped frames problem, plenty of web people do, seems to be drivers or frame data rate problem,but at least there is a work around solution. It doesn't take FireWire but at least most modern cameras save to SD card so that is not so important now, though I used to need FireWire for video camera, if you need this find a 500,510,700,or710 box if you can. You should if replacing an old box be able to use this straight away as it uses the same drivers as all the other usb2 connection pinnacle capture devices, as long as you are using win10 ver19 or earlier according to what I read. Studio 15 that comes with this is designed for xp and vista but does work on win 10. If new to studio this (15) is a reasonable version. You can install and use straight away. Just remember that if your unlucky enough to get the frame drop problem when capturing it can be got round. Overall not bad for your moneyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Dazzel worked strait out of the box.
Plug and pray is the norm but with this Dazzel its plug and play, all the way once I had connected the USB cable and the phono leads i started pinnacle 15 which came with Dazzel bingo the software recognised it strait away and it worked on demand. There has been some bad press is not working with windows 10 & no sound poor picture and difficult to set up, I must admit I was very surprised that it worked strait out of the box and so it should. I have used a pinnacle 510 digital transfer box which always work but not without agro getting up and running, on the odd occation it might work but generally it took a while to get it up and running. I also have a copy of pinnacle 20 and again it worked perfectly. it was£49.99 but to date it worked OK with no problems, indecently I am running windows 10 yet the highest operating system is stated windows 8 on the packaging.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good choice and did the Job
