Just like new
After lots of searching, I decided to give this a try. Most tyre dressing is shiny which is totally fake. Makes a car look like its been bought off Arthur Daley's car lot. I had used this brand before and was very happy, though it was called by a different name. What needs to be said? A little goes on a long way, and makes the tyres look brand new, nice and matt. The surprise was I used it on the black plastic grills I have both ends of the car. Always a pain as they're made with loads of small square holes. Applied it with a toothbrush, then buffed off with kitchen roll. Brilliant!! Leaves everything with a soft sheen just like brand new again. Works on some surfaces, not others.
Whether you'll enjoy this product is entirely dependent on the type of plastic that your trim is, it did an okay job of the smooth trim on the sides of my 04 Honda Civic and a pretty poor job on the plastic panels the side mirrors protrude from, but an incredible and flawless job on the area in front of the windscreen. Someone with more knowledge of car-care than me might know the difference and be able to adequately prep the area but if you're a layman expecting this product to fully restore every plastic surface on your car's exterior, it might be a gamble.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Delighted to find Simoniz still sell this product!
I used to buy this Simoniz product in smaller blue containers, but thought they had discontinued it. I was delighted to find it again - it really restores a rich black colour to all sorts of faded black plastic parts, black tyres, etc, and even on black-painted motorcycle parts like exhaust pipes and mufflers. Great for refreshing faded black trim materials.
I first bought the 'Back to Black' spray. The spray is clear and just left smeary marks. I had bought it because it had the same name as the cream i used to use. Disappointed, I contacted Simoniz, who sent me a bottle of this 'Jet Black' instead. This is exactly what I wanted, and used to know as 'Back to Black'. It is a black cream. You rub it well in, fairly liberally, smoothing and wiping as you go. The first coat soon soaks into the surface and dries, so you then add another, and you may, on very powdery faded surfaces, need more. Weirdly it doesnt stain hands too much, fortunately, and the surface doesn't last forever! But it's quite therapeutic and addictive stuff to use. It dries to a satin sheen, not high gloss. Restores jet black vinyl .
I honestly give this product 5 stars because it does exactly what it says on the tin or bottle:-). I've used Simonix Jet Black Trim Restorer for a number of years now and it's never let me down. Good Product with long-term results
