Great-sounding standalone tuner
This is not a recent product. In fact, very few vendors seem to be making standalone tuners for the US market (in contrast to Europe). My trusty Denon TU1500-RD failed, and I wanted a good FM tuner. Happily, the Marantz ST6000 still seems to be available (obviously second-hand). So, what's it like? The reception/discrimination is remarkably good. I live in the west hills of Portland, OR and using a simple dipole antenna, all of the local stations come through strongly and clearly. The sound is perhaps a tiny bit warmer than with the Denon, but it's extremely musical, and thoroughly enjoyable. Regardless of whether listening to classical, alt-rock, jazz, etc. the tuner presents a convincing and balanced sound. These days, the tuner can be had for ~$40 + shipping and it's a ridiculous bargain!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
