Better than competitors but...
I rated this as 4 stars better than expected but this is not quite true - I expected it to be good but rated it compared to its competitors.This gravel cleaner is better than its competitors. I have tried a few. The materials it uses seem durable and not too rigid. Its one joint is tight. I purchased it for my 6x2x2ft tank. and several smaller tanks too. However it is a bit slow IMO. I have small gravel ~ 2mm. It is easy to stop the gravel being sucked up too far up the long large dia section. The downside is that water flow is sluggish and siphoning a large tank in conjunction with large water change makes for slow work and difficulty in removing mulm. On my smaller tanks The long length of the large section of the cleaner makes it difficult or impossible to use properly, esp if headroom is a problem.I would prefer if the small tube connection was enlarged probably necessitating increasing the small tube itself. Maybe if the large tube were about 50 mm shorter and the small dia tube about 300 mm longer. For decent gravel cleaning on a large deep tank I recon that water flow would need to be increased about 50%. I realise the design has to be a compromise to deal with variations. It may be fine for a tank with very light substrate.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
