Nice big jars for fermenting
I got these for making sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables. They are a nice generous size so you can pack a lot in. Since they are airtight you have to release the gases occasionally when it is fermenting. I just do it first thing in the morning as part of my routine. I have a batch on the go now and it is looking and smelling good. If you don't want to be bothered "burping" it I think you could use them without the rubber seals and then they wouldn't be quite so airtight. I don't think the pressure would be enough to cause a major problem anyway as it only releases a little bit each day when I open it. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. They are good quality and arrive nicely packed. The clip tops work well and are easy enough to open and close whilst still giving a nice tight closure.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Found a leak of homemade relish on the counter top , moved the jar to clean up and it had been detached (???) , causing the leak . A lot of cleaning up to do and 2 litres of relish wasted , absolutely gutted
