This sleek and beautifully crafted masterpiece is exclusively designed to offer the serious photographer a quality, performance, convenience, and versatility rarely found in 35 mm SLR cameras. It boasts a vertical-travel focal-plane shutter with speeds ranging from 8 seconds to 1/1000 second for professional-class shooting. It has a fixed eye-level pentaprism viewfinder with built-in through-the-lens exposure meter utilizing center-weighted, full-aperture measurement with two silicon photo-diodes for fast response and impeccable light control. Film winding is made easier with the single-stroke lever with 135-degree winding angle and 30-degree stand-off angle, which also serves as the meter's off/on switch. The camera's satin-chrome and semi-gloss black finish is impressively attractive.

    Amazing camera and outstanding value!

    Excellent build quality, precision feel, good ergonomics, bright and sharp viewfinder, fast and accurate meter. Plus easy access to some of the best legacy and modern lenses in the world. These are amazing bargains at today's prices! I bought a mint one with the AW winder for $85.00 postpaid! And a second body in excellent condition for $55.00! I bought a NOS parts collection with several hundred new parts(including 7 new meters, a new shutter, 3 spare exposure cells, spare top and bottom covers, gears, etc.) for $50.00! Unbelievable! Nikon did a wonderful job of engineering these cameras. Most copies have never had any maintenance done in 40 years, and yet most still function like new...Highly Recommended!
