This means that you must connect the turntable output to a phono input on your amplifier and receiver. As many modern audio systems do not include phono inputs, you may need to connect an external preamp to your stereo, before connecting the turntable output. This gives the turntable a signal boost and ensures quality playback through the speakers. The Pro-Ject Debut III turntable requires a variety of accessories. Essential accessories include RCA cables, a receiver or amplifier, and speakers. This model does not include integrated speakers, so you must connect it to a Hi-Fi system to enjoy your vinyl records. Although it does not include a jack for headphones, you can listen to your records with headphones by plugging a set into your stereo receiver. Pro-Ject punches above it's cost weight
excellent step up from the entry level tables from Crosley, Audio-Technica, Fluance and many more - this is more like Mid-level of the starting audiophile - perfect turntable to have in a setup where the turn table is only occasionally used. The previous owner I bought it from had uprated the needle to an Ortofon OM20 over the standard Red 2E.
