The Nikon Coolpix L28 is an entry level point-and-shoot digital camera. The camera’s smart features, easy-to-learn buttons layout, large LCD display, and remarkably simple interface make it easy for you to change modes and review the shots. One of the L28’s smart features is the Easy Auto Mode which automatically analyzes the scene for each shot and selects the most appropriate settings for it. Aside from the Auto Mode, you can also choose from one of the 20 other scene modes such as beach, snow, night portrait, sunset, and more. These various options make it easy to match the appropriate effect for any given moment. Take sharp videos and photos with the Nikon Coolpix L28. With the help of the electronic vibration reduction feature you can take steady sports and action shots. The motion detection automatically selects a faster shutter speed and higher ISO to help get sharper and clearer photos. The camera also has a continuous shooting option which takes up to six shots at approximately 1.1 frames per second. The Nikon Coolpix L28 also enables you to record 720p HD video at 30 frames per second in widescreen format with high-fidelity sound recording thanks to the built-in microphone. Without pressing a button, the Nikon Coolpix L28 can take your pictures for you. The camera is equipped with features that make taking group photos easier such as smart portrait, smile detection and smile timer. Smile timer takes a picture automatically as soon as it detects a smile in the frame. When the camera detects a face in the frame, the skin softening feature smoothens the facial skin tones. After taking photos and videos, you can easily share your results with friends and family using an optional audio video cable. Directly connect the camera to a compatible TV and host a viewing party to showcase your best captured moments and memories. Enjoy the vibrant and bright image quality from the Coolpix L28’s high performance imaging technology using Nikkor glass lens paired with a 20-megapixel CCD image sensor. The actual focal length is 4.6-23mm which has 5x optical zoom, and you can easily do instant review of its results from the 3-inch QVGA LCD screen at the back of the camera. The Nikon Coolpix L28 uses two AA alkaline batteries which can shoot up to 280 pictures. Or, take over 890 shots when using a two AA lithium battery option. Save your photos and videos in the SD memory card. Other useful features of the camera include a 1/4-inch tripod socket mount and a high-speed USB interface. Some common accessories to the L28 are a USB cable to connect the camera to a computer for file transfer and a wrist strap to prevent the camera from falling out of your hands. Nikon also produces a CD that contains the full manual and the ViewNX 2, a simple editing and tagging software program by Arcsoft which helps for better photo management and photo processing. easy to use
The main reason I purchased this was of the battery's. It uses 2 AA battery's. For just a point and shoot camera that's great. I really don't know why more company's do that. I came across a Canon that did, but haven't really tried any others. Ease of use is pretty much in the way you use it, as with any P & S camera. There are many other ways to get more out of this little shirt pocket camera. Stills, profiles, fireworks and night time are just a few. I have one problem with the zoom. I can't seem to get it right in focus at long distance. I did get a small tripod for it. and that has helped. Not sure what more you need to know or that I can tell you. I did take the carry strap off because it seemed it was always getting in the way of close ups. Oh, the port to upload your pic's using the usb, is in a not good place. If my tripod is on, I have to unscrew it to get the little rubber cover off. I guess the other thing is just to remove the Smart card, and plug into your laptop or tablet. I HAVE ALWAYS HEARD NIKON WAS GOOD, BUT THEY ARE BETTER
The Nikon CoolPix was easy to learn to operate; the instructions were not hard to follow. The pictures were so clear and sharp I just could not believe that such a camera could produce it. The speed and resolution were so excellent than when I took a picture of a fan that was turned on "High", the blades looked as though the fan was off. Best of all it does not use recharge batteries
Best of all it does not use recharge batteries. these rechargeable cameras will break you heart in the end. I had to get rid of my other Nikon camera that used rechargeable batteries because it quit and the battery would not charge. Used external charger and new battery it still did not operate. So this camera is great. But it does better it the flash works- brightly lite rooms causes the auto flash not to work so the photos are a little grainy. Works great during the day on dimly lit rooms.., My other Nikon camera worked the same way.
