Water resistance up to 660 feet means there is no reason to fear your favorite water sports or taking a shower with it on. You can even use the available timer in the pool to check your speed during laps. The crystal mineral glass on the digital face keeps the device safe from scratches during use. These superior watches can handle almost any type of shock or abuse the wearer throws at them. The Casio G-Shock model features an automatic calendar that shows the day of the week, date, and month. Other features on the square face are a battery level indicator and the time in either 12 or 24-hour format. The stopwatch feature allows the wearer to measure split time, elapsed, as well as first and second place times up to 1/100 of a second. With minimum 40Hz automatic radio reception available, you'll never be without a signal. The device automatically syncs with atomic time because of this reception.With the world time and city code feature, time changes on these G-shocks, such as Daylight Savings time, and time zones are handled automatically. After the first manual setting, you won't have to change the time or day again due to periodic syncs. The watch features an accuracy level within 15 seconds per month, so you can easily sync other electronics with it. Other time functions available include the ability to set a daily alarm, or up to five alarms. The snooze function will allow the wearer to catch a few more minutes of sleep. Featuring a durable solar cell battery, the Casio G-Shock watches will casually charge during regular use. If not exposed to any sun at all, the battery will last approximately 10 months. The average life of the long-lasting battery with exposure to charging is 26 months. Conserve battery power with the ability to turn on or off the automatic backlight on the watch's display. To turn on, simply press and hold the corresponding button and turn the watch towards you 40 degrees. It will then stay on until manually turned off. The tough yet comfortable Casio G-Shock model watch has a band with a standard size, allowing almost all men to wear them. The buckle clasp makes it possible to put on or take off the device with one hand while keeping it secure. Awesome stealthy watch!
This watch looks great! I thought the negative display would be difficult to read and it is not, ..but maybe a bit. The dark appearance on the wrist looks stealthy and I'm in love with the look. I changed the strap to a black nato and it looks ten times better. All function are great except for one thing, the volume is very low on the alarm and it is so low it will not wake me up, or even alert me when I'm awake unless in dead silence. Pretty much exactly what I wanted

A classic watch with modern looks
My "beater" watch, I don't have to worry about setting the time, charging and is very durable. No complaints besides the inverted display, but to me it looks better than the regular display so it is a good trade-off for me. Casio G-Shock Tough Solar
I was in two minds about ordering the negative display, having read several reviews saying the desplay was hard to read but decided to take a chance because it's something different. I'll discuss this below. When the watch arrived I was disappointed to discover that mine came with the resin band, despite the GW-M5610BC-1JF models on Amazon and online showing a metallic bracelet band. I thought that's what I had ordered but I guess I didnt read the fine print when I clicked "order" but that's my mistake. The resin band is comfortable and easy to adjust, however I was very disappointed to discover it wasnt the metalic band when it arrived. Part of the attraction of this model was the metalic band but i'll get used to it. The watch itself is nicely sized for a small-medium wrist and not overly chunky like other G-shock models. Functions include the typical digital watch operations: time, stopwatch, timer count-down, world time and 5 different alarms (all the same tone unfortanately) and hourly alarm, backing LED light etc. The watch is part of the Tough Solar line, which I find attractive. The small power indicator bar was on "high" on the first day, but dropped down to medium overnight. I assume the watch has been sealed in a cardboard box in transit from Japan to Australia without exposure to sunlight for 3-4 weeks and on the first day I used the auto backlight 20-30 times so this isnt bad. The first 10 mins of sunlight the watch manage to get despite the rainy weather and the power indicator jumped back to "high" so I'm happy. As far as manually setting and adjusting the watch, I didnt bother opening the manual as anyone familiar with digital watches will find this quite simple. I managed to set the time and auto LED backlight, alarm etc without any trouble. Now onto my main criticism of the watch: As far as the digital display, on opening the box I was unimpressed with how dim the negative display is. Compared to my other casio watches it was significantly darker and very hard to read inside during the day. Having spent a couple of days wearing it I'm used to the display and have less trouble reading it, but i should mention to anyone thinking of buying it-it's not as easy to tell the time as a normal digital display. In direct sunlight or in a well lit room it's easier to see, however I find myself having to angle my wrist just right so the light catches the display so i can read it. If i'm watching tv or in bed with only a lamp or a dim light, i cant tell the time without using the LED backlight. I do like the watch, and my friends have all commented on how sweet it looks but in terms of functionality I probably wouldnt have bought the negative display version because its not always easy to see. I won't send it back, but overall the experience didnt quite match up to the expectations. I'll probably invest in a Protrek for the large LED display or an analogue G-Shock with a metallic band. Overall it's a nifty watch and I'll add it to my rotation of wrist watches but it's certainly not my favourite and was a bit of a let down. Thanks for reading!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A really fantastic G-Shock. Not too small, not too large and keeps perfect time. You'll only need another watch if you break it (doubtful) or are planning on living in a cave in Antarctica.
