Cult Classic
Is it easy to use? I answered yes, but for some photographers used to newer more user friendly cameras, the answer would possibly be no. Good image quality? Yes, more on that below. Good value? Yes, if purchased used at a reasonable price (this camera and viewfinder combo was $3300 new in 2012...ouch!). I purchased a used RX1R and loved the image quality but yearned for a new Nikon Z6, so I sold the RX1R and regretted it. Then I purchased an RX1 a year later. I'm happy again. The RX1 and RX1R are the same camera except that the RX1R has the anti-aliasing filter removed from the image sensor, thus giving sharper resolution. The AA or low pass filter reduces moire and isn't as sharp (as per the experts). But I'm more than okay with the RX1. It is very sharp and can be tweaked a tad more in post processing. Plus it isn't prone to moire. The RX1 (and RX!R) have 24MP sensors and 35mm f/2 Sonnar lenses that produce amazing image quality. Lastly, the 35mm Sonnar is actually a 32mm or 32.5mm lens which is even better IMO. The auto-focus is sluggish, so it really shouldn't be compared to a DSLR in many respects, including auto-focus. It is accurate AF and there are some advantages to using the DMF and MF functions which will please many travel, landscape, and street photographers.

An oldie but still a real goodie
Definitely an older version of the camera - the original model and the camera has gone through a number of modifications since then. The most notable of which is that it now has a built in viewfinder.
