If you like Fry Daddy you'll like this more.
I have had several Fry Daddys over the years, they are simple no frills but work well. The only thing I didn't like was the size. I mostly use fryers for wings, about 12 to 16, I could fit this amount into the Fry Daddy but it was a bit crowded and took a bit long to fry and I hate waiting to fry 2 batches. Then I saw they made the GranPappy. This is just what it looks like, a slighty larger Fry Daddy. 16 wings fit easily , cooked faster and still didn't use a large quantity of oil like larger fryers. A Good Handy Fryer!
Great little fryer. I researched several and kept coming back to this one. It's easy to use and maintain! I have fried chicken, tater tots, and fish in it and it works great. Keep a good cooking thermometer handy and just monitor the fry temperature and you'll be all set. It has only one setting (all on) but you always want to make sure the grease is hot enough to fry (at least 350). I also recommend that if you cook chicken in it, make sure it's at room temperature and it helps to cut it into smaller strips or pieces.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The best small fryer on the market!
The GranPappy Fryer is the perfect size at 6 cups of oil, and cooks at the perfect temperature! he GranPappy is easy to use, easy to clean, and can be used to store any lightly used oil left after frying. I also have a larger deep fryer that requires 1 gallon of oil, so that fryer is not practical unless I'm frying a large amount of Chicken or Fish. The 6 cup capacity of the GranPappy is sufficient to fry most everything for a family without wasting a bunch of oil. Great Product in my kitchen! I don’t know how I ever got along without a fryer like this. The Gand Pappy is so simple to use and fast will cook up a pile of fries in less than 8 mins. This replaces my 30+ yr. old fry daddy which by the way nothing wrong with, just larger capacity for bigger proportions such as mushrooms,tenderloins, and the wings..its all about the wings.
