after some breaking in it brews a great pot of coffee
it takes a little trial and error to figure out how much coffee to use for your preference. Following their guidelines of one scoop per cup of coffee is a bit too much for our taste. Using the metallic coffee screen is convenient but a bit messy to clean, not all of the grinds fall into the garbage can then you have to wash off the rest. Also the metal screen does not filter as well as the paper filter, small amount of residue at the bottom of your cup. Other than that we love the automatic brewing timer as well as the auto shut off timer and the very large carafe, up to 14 cups, small ones. Cleaning the inside top is a bit of a hassle given all the nooks and crannies and holes. I imagine after time it will darken in the areas difficult to clean. Fortunately this is totally out of sight. The unit does release some steam while brewing so be careful placing it underneath the cabinet that is too close to the top. The rubber feet do not slide at all and I guess that's what you want but like in our case we have to pull it out from underneath the cabinet during brewing and then push it back or should I say lift it back. Other than that it does make a really nice pot of coffee, we are enjoying it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very good unit except
Functionally this is an excellent unit that produces a great cup of coffee. However, pouring 14 cups of water from the carafe into the reservoir without spilling all over the counter top is almost impossible. Originally thought the problem might be my being lefthanded but the rest of the family had the same results from the right side. I believe the problem is twofold; 1. Because the lid does not stay at a 90 degree angle when opened, it must be manually held open, limiting the pouring angle from either side. 2.
