Note freezer pedal from Electro Harmonix. It lets you freeze a note or chord you've just played and repeats it over and over while the footswitch is down. But it only retains that initial note, not everything, so you can easily play over the top of it.

What a fantastic little pedal. This has really filled out some of the sounds i aim for when writing solo music. A great tool for adding some additional effect and jams between songs during sets. There is nothing to fault so far. IT does exatcly what the description says and what you want it to do. A must have for any pedal board for those artists who like to experiment with thier sounds as well as any form of improv jamming. Ive found you just know when to use this pedal live its the peice of the puzzle you have been missing. Go for it. Loop it, delay it, feel it, play it.

Great with alto sax
Even after having this pedal only a few days I can produce a wide range of effects from subtle drones to weird shrieks. I'm sure there's more to come as I continue to explore. Deceptively simple to operate, the pedal captures the timbre of the sax incredibly quickly and accurately to produce a sustained tone to carry on playing against.
