The original Journey to the center of the Earth is a true period classic that far outshines its more kid friendly 2008 version. It's in camera special effects are a wonder of the times before CGI and that coupled with old technicolour make it a visual feast for the eyes. A classic summary of the movie.
This is a classic movie that enthralled me as a child and still does as an adult. Although our scientific knowledge has moved on, this movie is pure escapism and must be treated as such. The special effects were great for the time and the characters well suited.
