Canon GL2
I now have three of these. If what you want is near broadcast quality, amazing video with a camera that has some good pro features, this is the one to get if you are on a budget, but you need to be aware of some limitations. Technology has moved a long ways forward. This camera was among the very best in it's day...great lense and technology. But, it does film to mini DV. However, I use the firewire output and record to a digital device, so it doesn't effect me. Make sure if you buy one that the DV port is not damaged....they are easily damaged and I got one on ebay that was and had to send it back. Also, it records 4:3 ratio and is not HD. Again, for my work that isn't an issue, but those could be very serious one's for a lot of people and likely why these are so darn cheap now. Until I am forced to HD and/or 16:9, this camera (along with the other 2 plus a Canon XL1S) are all I need for a very professional multi camera shoot.
