A Transformation.
Our decking had been looking decidedly dry and faded and so, I purchased 'Cuprinol Decking Oil', not really knowing how it would work. It transformed the wood, and although it was natural, it changed the appearance of the decking, making it look richer and not dry and faded as before. Not what I expected.
Not having used decking oil before I was expecting something .. well .. Oily. This stuff is more like a water based varnish. That said it was very easy to apply (being watery) and dried very quickly to a semi gloss finish. It looks great but subsequent coats just pool on the surface, Which again gives the impression that it is just a varnish. Time will tell if it has a lasting protective effect. I've no doubt that a brand like Cuprinol know what they are doing so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.

Very pleasing result
This product is very easy to apply and the result is natural and pleasing. I chose “Natural” because that was the effect I was hoping to achieve on our decking and it worked!
