Good value and work as advertised.
They take some getting used to, then again, real hearing aids take even more time to get used to. The sound magnifiers look ridiculous, but they work as well as cupping hands to both ears, which for me works better than any high-priced hearing aid I've tried. And the price is certainly right.
I only wear them on special occasions, such as in a meeting, or when I go out to dinner with friends. I get a lot of kidding for a couple of minutes. But after I point out that they work just fine for me and cost less than 10 bucks, not hundreds or even thousands people shut up and want to try them. In fact, I bought two sets, in case I lose or break one. Who knows how long these will stay on the market?
There was a similar sound amplifier marketed on American television about 30 or more years ago. It was clear plastic device consisting of a pair of clear plastic cups affixed to an adjustable headphone-type over-the-head clip. They were kind of the shape of Yoda's ears--and about the same size, an inch or two wider than these. Unfortunately those don't exist any more, or if they do, I can't find them. The original patent owner has passed away, and his heirs didn't answer my emails.
If the makers of this product would come out with the headset "Yoda-ears" style, I'd get a couple of pairs of those, as well.
