Worth the gamble
It's been working pretty well, so far. I have a good vacuum cleaner so that's not a problem. Figuring out the correct attachments is taking some experimenting. Do like the overall effect and it's great to do the trimming on my schedule. It seems there is a learning curve, but I'm pretty satisfied so far. Just OK
It's awkward, heavy and slow. Shop vac or simular needed to have enough suction to pull clean, dry, straight hair up to cut. The type of brittle plastic used to make the spacers will easily break if dropped or handed to rough. Results are ok. I cut my hair myself, always have. Good but a little flimsy
Overall I am satisfied after 2 haircuts but will have to see how things hold up. The plastic spacers seem to be flimsy and one piece did break from a fall off the counter. Luckily there are good plastic glues available so I was able to repair before second use. Replacement parts are expensive if they are going to be the same low-grade plastic. For the price I did expect higher quality. I cut my own hair first after watching online videos. Everything went well though the back of my head was the most difficult. It will better in the future has I become more familiar with everything. Next I cut my grandson's hair and everyone says it looks as good as most shops would do. If the unit lasts like many reviews say they do I know it will be a good long-term investment. I would recommend to others but remember to be careful with the plastic parts, they are more fragile than they appear. Buy it as long as you aren't a "fussbudget" (a term from long ago)
My hair had gotten so long (7") and felt horrible. I used it to trim back all my hair to about 3" and then used the short extension for the sides. It looks just fine. It's not like a barber's cut but I'm still happy with it. My wife helped with the back where I couldn't see. I recommend using your own more powerful home vacuum because you need the maximum vacuum power to pull the hair up in to the cutting blades when you are using the long cutting extension and IF you have allowed your hair to get as long as mine did, The longer your hair is, the more power you need in the beginning. Really nice if the attachments weren't so flimsy...
The Flowbee does work and I won't be needing a hair stylist any longer. I would have given it 5 starts, but due to the flimsy attachments I only gave it 4 stars. If they were more sturdy and wouldn't fall off, I'd have given it 5 starts. To ensure they didn't fall off, I had to use Scotch tape to hold them in place. If different people wanted different hair lengths, I wouldn't be able to use tape and my rating would be worse. Flowbee is great for Faux fur trimming
While I have my doubts as to the usefulness of the Flowbee for cutting human hair, it is an outstanding tool for anyone who works with faux fur for teddy bears, mascot costumes, or puppets. Good tool but could be better
Great idea but it’s not great quality. Everything works but the cutting attachments are made like throw away toys. They are thin cheap plastic with easily breakable tabs that appear to be the weak point in the system. Every time that I install and remove them I am certain that they will break. I will try to locate another set of attachments for when the inevitable happens. Surprisingly good
The flowbee has been a joke like other "as seen on TV" products. I purchased this because the COVID-19 virus had eliminated all other ways to cut my hair and as a first responder I was obligated to still report to work. the oil bottle was jacked up and leaked all over the box
When I received the bottle of oil leaked all over the box and it was loose but I couldn't open it. I guess I'll use sewing machine oil. I had bought a flow bee in 1988 and the transformer quit working, so that why I ordered this one. the old part for cutting the hair won't fit this one and the new ones are not as good. They are flimsy in comparison, I would have been happy just to get a new transformer. I do like the way you only have to put one plug.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very pleased with product after 23 years of heavy use, have bought a Second FlowBee
I have used my first one for over 23 years on myself (exclusively the FlowBee, no other cuts), and multiple other family members as well (some on intermittent basis as available). Has saved a lot in that time, paying for itself many times over! And with good results! My hair is difficult for stylists to cut and get a good look, but with the FlowBee I can get consistent good results, the way I want it, every time. And right here at home, when ever it is convenient, no appointments or travel time lost... and I don't have to wear a mask or worry about social distancing to get it done. Without a doubt one of the very best products I have ever bought! When I have the time I will repair the simple wire that finally came loose inside my first one after so many years of regular and heavy use, and fully expect to get much more use out of it yet. But the day that it did not work, I jumped on the internet immediately to see if they were still available out there. I was very pleased to see they were, and that the design is virtually unchanged over all this time. So they have not cheapened the product over time, and that is so rare! Using the new one is just like using my original. Very very pleased with this product!
