Quality Carbon Monoxide Detector !
I used to have an identical product which had a lifespan of 10 years. The 10 years is now up and I replaced it with the Kidde Lifesaver which has a 7 year lifespan. I installed the batteries, tested it and attached it on the edge of a door frame in my hallway. It is working nicely and I have experienced no problems since I fitted it. I would certainly recommend it to other home users who use a gas operated water / heating system. Bear in mind that carbon monoxide is known as "the silent killer" and fitting at least one or more of these detectors can help save your life. Seems to Work
I had it installed about a year ago in a bedroom ceiling where a gas boiler has been installed for safety reason even though the boiler if a top make and is sealed to prevent gases from escaping into the room. I have had no incident of smoke or CO gas so I can't comment on how effective a response this device has give. All what I can say for now is that it has not given any false alarms or false tweets, except low battery tweets and voice alarm very recently to expectation. This brand name, Kidde is an addition to other alarms also Kidde which I have had for a long time. Dependable as my smoke alarm has been activated. Sturdy, very easily installed with adequate indication leds. Definitely worth buying to keep safe
The only reason I have given 4**** is because I can not test that it is working correctly unless there was a Carbon monoxide build up! I have used this brand before and deem it to be trust worthy! Second unit here, two installed here....
All Pro's, this is the second CO2 unit and it was the replacement for the out of life one in the kitchen with the oil burning Rayburn. The other is in our sitting room which monitors the Gas fired heater in the hall. We live in an old railway cottage on the edge of Exmoor in Morebath. our sitting room was in fact the "Signal Box" attached to the stone built Cottage. 'Life-Saver' is not an exaggeration
The previous 7-year Kidde model was faultless. It unexpectedly sounded when a gas hob had beem left on, unlit, quite possibly saving my life.
