    Air impacts are obsolete

Hits hard. I work in an auto dealership. No more air hoses, noise and air/oil exhaust. Makes work go much faster. I recommend taking the four screws off the the nose cone and applying a thin layer of black moly grease inside the nose cone and on the rotating assembly. Dewalt skimps on grease from the factory. Only complaint is the detent on the forward/reverse switch sucks and can get nudged accidentally while operating the trigger.

    Like a BOSS.

This thing is sweet. Should have bought one years ago. A little big for tight places , but I didn’t want to buy two (med /large). I figure if I’m breaking this thing out , I need power. And it does NOT disappoint. I also got a cover for it from MAC tools. Look into it.

  • Great Impact Driver

I bought this because the air impact I have doesn't seem to have enough power to remove my mower blades and sometimes lug nuts. I wanted one that had all the power I ever need. This baby has that and works like a charm. I have used it on lug nuts and more recently for changing my shocks on my truck. It hammers away until the nuts move. It it much easier than fooling with a cord or hose. I can not speak for durability but for my home use, it certainly is all I ever need.

  • It's the real deal.

Didn't know what to expect from the Dewalt DCF899HB impact, but it lives up to it's reputation. I used a DCB606 60V/20V battery for best power result. Toughest job so far was lugs on a Ford F350 that were giving air impact trouble. There was a pause before lug nuts came off while it hammered, but all came loose. The loss of dragging air hose around and needing a compressor is a big plus. I went around loosening/tightening the most challenging bolts I could find and it worked on them all. Don't know how long DCB606 lasts. Not lost measurable charge yet. Barring a failure, I think this is a go to gun.

  • Smooth, smooth, smooth.....

I work on old farm equipment mostly as a hobby and you know what kind of situations you're about to encounter while removing the old bolts. Most of the bolts are of course just cut off with a fire tool and replaced but some can be salvaged and need to be because of the expense of replacing them.... Plows bolts I try to save, such as the ones on scrape blades. I use the lowest speed setting with lots of oil on the bolts/nuts and slowly manipulate the bolt loose. My air impact is harder to control and often breaks it. I have lots of Dewalt tools I bought years ago and still going and this one seems like it fits right into the category of being tough built. I haven't put it to a hard test yet but I'm confident it'll be fine.

  • Must have

This is a must have tool for every pro to shade tree mechanic. Make sure you pay attention to the model because some are a lot cheaper but don’t deliver this power or 3 separate speeds.

  • Dewalt 899HB

Lots of power nice tool. One drawback is that it is heavy. No surprise they advertise the weight. I liked the breakaway power. I would give it 5 stars except for weight.

  • Dewalts Beast 1/2 inch impact! Amazing power!

Amazing power for a 1/2 inch impact. Beast actually, with 700ft lbs and 1200ft lbs breaking force. If your looking for an impact to break loose seized bolts and or nuts this is the monster you need. Good balance considering it's size. Doubt I'll ever have to get an impact with more power. A little on the heavy side but understandable.

  • Dewalt 20v is the best deal you'll find

As a millwright, I use my tools 8 to 12 hours every day. I have replaced all my Porter-Cable 20v with Dewalt. The Dewalt hold a charge longer, are more powerful (torque being the biggest difference) and feel sturdier when being used. I'll keep the PC tools for home use, and use the Dewalt on the job.
