Cleans carpets well, but not the best of designs if you have pets.
It is easy to use and definitely makes carpets and rugs cleaner and brighter. However, considering that it is designed for homes with pets, it seems odd that the plastic cover at the front cannot be taken apart for cleaning. We have seven cats and although I use a pet hair attachment on my Dyson vacuum before shampooing, the Vax's cover frequently gets clogged with pet hair and it is incredibly difficult to remove.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Overpriced and Underpowered
Have previously has a Bissell Power Brush, very robust machine, trouble free for 10 years, did a good job This VAX is like a child`s toy Cheaply made in China, all a bit wobbly This is so underpowered, not enough power to operate brushes and suction Leaked constantly through motor housing Picks up 1/4 of solution Blew my houses trip switches multiple times when brushes under load Spray rate too high, covers a couple of square metres a tank. Hand attachment leaked from joint Cannot cope with any slightly uneven floors Brushes do not go all the way across head, leaves a 4" wet stripe which is an issue when you cannot turn the cleaner around and go back the opposite way. Exactly what I wanted!
Have owned many Vax vacuum cleaners in the past so when I was looking for a cleaner it was one of the first places I looked. Its washer and vacuum storage are not massive but its light weight and wanted something I could use on the stairs. Its easy to use so will use frequently. Good value, gets the job done, but suction power is on the low side
VAX products, at least in this price category are made of fairly fragile plastic, so my expectations were not high. Indeed, in this case, one should be careful not to put hot water in the clean water tank. Howver, the parts fit well together, and the whole thing is sturdy enough to be lifted by the handle. In terms of actual cleaning, I liked the result, the carpets look a lot cleaner, but where they are even slightly more soiled, pre-treatment is required. I was actually more impressed with the results when using the upholstery tool, both on chairs inside the house and on car seats and interior. All in all, was a good purchase. One thing I am not happy about is the suction power. The amount of water the cleaner collects is a small fraction of what it dispenses -- compared to its bigger rental brothers. The result is that most of the dirt does not make it to the waste water tank but gets stuck on the brushes and pipes, so needs to be removed by hand. This is again better when using the upholstery tool. In summary: gets the job done, but requires a lot of fiddling around to remove dirt. I would consider a more powerful one if I needed to choose it again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great for houses with kids and dogs

come on VAX u should b the best....
does what it should do but not great my expectations were higher being vax the suction was not great the angle seemed wrong from middle to the front ,i replaced the wheels with cotton bobins which improved the suction also the tanks should be a bit larger ,not having to change water so often ,,,ooverall it does clean carpets but being that it is designed for the job it should be better a little bit of sitting on their laurals etc regards pete smith...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Really Good Power Washer
We had a Vax Rapid Spruce & thought that done the job of cleaning our carpets, but my sister purchased this new model, I saw it & we got one too. I thought our carpets were clean, it wasn't that long ago we had just done them with the spruce. The Duel is fabulous & really got into the carpets, obviously had a deeper clean with the Duel. Decent carpet cleaner, but needs bigger tank.
Decent cleaner, especially the hand tool. The hand tool is ideal for car seats and stairs and also sofas. Struggled a little when cleaning our rug, but I think it’s because I’m not 100% sure if I was dispensing/using the cleaner the correct way.
