Krups Coffee Bean Grinder...Price and Value

I’ve used a Krups grinder for 35 years now and it grinds the coffee beans perfectly. I bought this one as a gift for a nephew who likes his coffee, and wants to grind his own beans. My Krups grinder is 35 years old and continues to provide excellent ground beans... you can’t place a value on quality that validates its worth. Try it... you’ll like the freshly ground coffee beans aroma, and know that your Krups is waiting for your next pot!

    Pretty good

It's an ok grinder. A few issues: It's very noisy and I think it's a less powerful grinder, either because of a less powerful motor or less functional blades. I just grind my coffee beans a little longer. Also, the design of the interior of the bean holder encourages the grinds sticking to the sides and needing to be scraped off. I use a plastic knife. On the other hand, it's sleek black design gets A+ for looks.

  • Superlative. Used these for 40 years.

This is my fifth Krups coffee mill in my life time. I'm 53. One of them worked like a charm in the 80s and was left with the next renter of my apartment. For all I know, that one is still whirring away in a NY apartment. Another I lost to a relationship. Another was bought as a spice grinder to keep flavors separate from the coffee grinder. Said coffee grinder was purchased in 1999 and still works like a champ to this day, but it had to be retired this month because the cord finally wore out from my wrapping it tightly, DAILY, for TWENTY ONE YEARS. This is one of the few products that really was built to last. My guess is that Krups stopped producing them because they were a little too good. My parents used the same model from 1970s to 1990s. This fifth one is working like a dream. I have a feeling i won't need another coffee grinder until i order one from the next life. I hope UPS delivers to the hot place. I'm going to need coffee there for eternity. This Krups grinder is the only one to handle the job ;-)

  • Krups Coffee Grinders are high-quality and grind quickly and evenly.

I've never had a problem with Krups coffee/spice grinders. It's a consistent product that lasts a long time, grinds quickly and really effectively. Normally the issue with this type of little grinder is that the grind comes out really uneven. For ex, I've tried some grinders where you're grinding for 20 sec or more and there are still big chunks of coffee beans throughout, while a lot of your beans are pulverized to dust. This is not the case with Krups. I highly recommend this product.

  • Worth the money

Very good grinder. Will make flax seed into a fine power in less than a minute. A bit hard to clean with a small brush. The seed power tends to stick and working around sharp blade speaks for itself. Probably no harder to clean than any other but this is my first grinder. I would recommend this.

  • Great little grinder

This grinder isn't more expensive than others of it's type, but it's particularly good for two reasons: First, it grinds (chops?) more evenly than any other grinder like this I've ever used. Maybe it's the oval design, I'm not exactly sure why. Second, while not quiet per se, it puts out significantly less noise than others like it

  • Krups Coffee Grinder - Use it for Spices

We saw the Krups "Coffee" Grinder on America's Test Kitchen & they were using it to grind spices. It makes tedious jobs very easy, grinds perfectly.

  • A superb design

The grinder is quiet, efficient, simple and good looking. It puts me in a driver seat by not providing multiple useless buttons, as some other grinders do. One finger operation, perfectly ground coffee.

  • Coffee Bean Grinder

Great product. Been using the Krups for at-least 25 years. Old one still works great but the cord was starting to show wear. I’ll keep it for a spare

  • Better than last gen.

I read comparisons of blade coffee grinders with burr coffee grinders. The primary reason the burr grinders were favored over the blade grinders was the incompleteness of the task. Varying sizes of grains were left, making the brew, potentially bitter, and certainly unpredictable. This model, which I assume is the next generation, does a complete grind. I haven't tested the theory, but the amount of 'on' time may be the equivalent of the degree of grind. I think there may be only one grind and for varying grind degrees, a burr grinder may be better. But, as I said, I haven't tested the idea yet. Bottom line: this grinder is affordable, convenient, and fast. The unit is also small with a short cord that just fits my counter-top electrical outlet, leaving no messy excess cord to deal with.
