    Time for Timney

Used this trigger while giving my dad's Remington 700 "06" a total make-over. This is a crisp and properly set trigger for hunting. I also replaced the bolt's firing pin with a Gre-Tan firing pin and spring...very noticeable improvement! Timney makes great products. (If you DIY, watch Brownell's YouTube video on the change out...worth taking the time to do it right the first time and go through the proper safety checks after install.)

    works great but crooked

I HAVE A TIMNEY TRIGGER ON ONE OF MY OTHER GUNS AND IT WORKS GREAT. SO I THOUGHT PUTTING ONE ON MY REMINGTON 700 MOUNTAIN RIFLE WOULD BE EASY. IT WAS TO A CERTAIN POINT. WHEN I PUT THE STOCK AND TRIGGER GUARD BACK ON THE TRIGGER WAS OFF TO ONE SIDE AND RUBBING ON ONE SIDE OF THE TRIGGER GUARD OPENING. THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY THE TIMNEY IS SLIGHTLY WIDER AND MODIFYING THE OPENING MAY BE NECESSARY. THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM ON THE OTHER SIDE SO I CONCLUDED IT WAS CROOKED FOR SOME REASON. I ALSO DIDNT WANT TO FILE THE OPENING ON MY RIFLE. I ENDED UP REMOVING THE TIMNEY TRIGGER AND PUTTING THE ORIGINAL BACK ON AND ADJUSTING IT PER INSTRUTIONS ONLINE

  • Timney 510 for Rem 700

This is my second Timney trigger and it is as good as the first one, which was for a Ruger 10/22. While most videos and instructions indicated that the front retaining pin could be removed without removing the bolt release, my 700 did not allow me to do so. I had to remove the rear pin and bolt release to remove the front pin. New Timney trigger slipped in effortlessly, without any modification. With retention pins installed, action functioned flawlessly. Trigger is crisp, with nice 3# pull and I know it is a safer gun!

  • Will Buy Timney Again

Probably the best option for the 700. Easy installation. I recommend the Brownell's video. Made in the USA. Great little devotional type story card included in the package: "Let go and let God." Clean breaking trigger in a beefy, well made housing. Set at about 3lb from the factory. It needed zero adjusting for me. I installed it on a 1976 chambered in 25-06. No additional stock fitting. Dropped right in...bolt release didn't need bending for me either. If you want a quality replacement trigger, this is about as good as you will get in that $100-$125 range.

  • Timney triggers are perfect for Remington builds.

Strait forward, and high quality. They are the blue ray of the trigger world, you can spend more and stress more but in the end 98% of the shooters will be just as happy and not be able to tell the difference in like adjusted more pricey brands. Considering you have to replace the new Remington POS trigger they are so proud of timney is the standard all others will be compared to.

  • Money

This is the Money Trigger if you are a serious shooter. If you have never installed one before, no worries it's a pretty uncomplicated task. Very easy to adjust the pull weight to your liking in a few minutes. My groups went from 1.5" to .600" easily. 20" SPS .308 Very nice light pull and clean break. You will want to toss the factory adjustable in the trash. I am very pleased.

  • Quality trigger at a reasonable price.

Easy to install and gave me the flexibility to set my Rem700 trigger where I want it. A caveat: Installing this trigger on an action going into the Magpul 700 SA stock with the bottom kit for an AISC magazine may require some relief where the trigger passes thru the trigger guard to permit free operation of the bolt release. I carefully used a dremel to remove some material. Also, the tip of the bolt release, where it protrudes thru the trigger guard, with this stock, requires the user to superglue a small extension to it, as it is nearly flush and isn't easily depressed enough to get the bolt out. How ever, how often do you do that? I used a golf pencils eraser to push it up. But then, I took a cross rail from a Picatinny rail cover and trimmed it to the square size of the tip of the release lever, that solved that problem, and I elected to remove material from the trigger guard so I can easily remove the bolt. I doubt that most after market stocks would require these work-arounds. I like Timney triggers for bolt rifles. One lives on my Savage SA 10 P also.

  • WORKS!

The original trigger had been replaced via recall. The replacement trigger was not acceptable. Boy, am I glad the Timney trigger was purchased and installed. If this new trigger has any creep, I cannot notice any creep. It was easy to install. It was easily adjusted to the setting desired. Wow, the shot groups shrunk. I know I will obtain at least one more of these triggers.

  • Love it!

Couldn’t be happier! 25-yard zero., 3-lb pull. I added one click to the right for windage after this group. Rifle is the legendary Remington Model 722 caliber .222 made in 1951. Scope - Bushnell Elite 6-24x50 0n a 20 MOA rail.
