Light weight easy mowing.
This reel mower does take a lot of effort to get the blades turning. It cuts great, tuff weeds may take a second pass or speeding up to get the blades going faster. Mower is very light weight. Wanted this mower to handle a patch of annual Rye grass I had seeded. Grass established and the mower ideal for cutting these relatively fragile "plants" which the rotary type mowers could tear tem out of the ground. Easy, Compact, Better for grass & the environment, Great Exercise!
I bought this because I have a small lawn. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a gas mower, nor did I want to have to deal with buying gas. This does the trick just fine and it's also great exercise for your arms, and thighs! It cuts well, and also doesn't make the loud noise of a gas mower, which can be disturbing to neighbors. I'd researched them for a while before purchase. I am very pleased with the excellent price I got here on eBay, and the mower was actually in much better condition than I'd even expected. GREAT value; easy to assemble; had to work hard to eliminate squeaking shaft

Easier than I expected
I'm a 36yo woman with a smaller build. I don't work out. I had no problem pushing this mower around the yard (1/3 acre total). If I split it up and do the back yard one day, the front another, then I can do each thoroughly in about 20 minutes. I had a whole phone call recently while mowing the backyard.
