The best cleaning rods made. I have several and don't regret spending the higher cost.
I have had stainless steel rods and they work....but not as well as this one. The Tipton rods are some of the best you can buy and are highly recommended as they are made from carbon fiber which does not damage the barrel like a stainless rod can and sometimes does. The Tipton rod remains straight and handles bending force well. The threads for the cleaning devices are of high grade brass which will not damage barrels. The handles on the Tiptons are well designed and make gun cleaning easier. When it comes time to clean my guns, only Tiptons will I use. These rods are well worth the extra money and will last almost forever. If you are thinking of getting a Tipton, just do it. You won't regret it one bit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Worth the cost, hold up quite well.
These are a bit expensive initially, but the quality is worth it. After you pay the price you get to enjoy the quality long term, and the price will be forgotten. Tipton Deluxe Carbon Fiber Cleaning Rod for .17HMR -.22 caliber Rifles
I've used Tipton cleaning rods for the past 14 years, starting with my first one for my .30 caliber military and civilian arms, and now adding this version for my .22s and newly acquired Savage 93 in .17 HMR. I can't say enough good things about this product. They aren't the cheapest rods you can buy, but here the old axiom "you get what you pay for" rings especially true. They are worth definitely the money. This new Tipton cleaning rod can handle both my .17 and my .22s, using an adapter to fit the patch holder for the larger caliber. (For the smaller .17, I use a Tipton cleaning jag since there are no patch holders available in .17 caliber.....at least, I've not been able to find any so far.) The rod handles cleaning these bores with ease. It's sturdy, very well-made, and its carbon fiber construction will not shed any extraneous material inside your bore, meaning you can use it with any of today's cleaning solvents with confidence. Being one piece, it won't bend and scratch the inside of the barrel, either. It has the standard Tipton ball-bearing handle which allows it to smoothly rotate with the lands and grooves of your barrel, ensuring thorough cleaning.
