I do not think this smells bad. It doesn't smell like anything at all. It is greasy feeling however so you want to keep it out of your hair when applying by using a head band. It doesn't sting like Kate Sommerville's EradiKate. You should ask your OBGYN but my online research shows this can be used by women who are or trying to become pregnant unlike a lot of other acne products. Really helping my skin get acne free
While the product does smell lightly of sulpher, which I don't like, it is clearing up my skin. As a 50+ adult I have had bad breakouts of acne. I have tried many acne products on the market and none have worked for me. This product is working. I put a very thin layer of ointment over my entire face in the morning and wash it off at night. My skin is no longer as dry as it was and the texture is changing to be softer and smoother with fewer and fewer breakouts. Wrinkles are not as noticable either, so that seems to be another benefit. This is an awesome acne product. Cheap and it does what it says it does! I like to leave mine on a little longer than it says, about 20-30 is what I do. It works amazing. I am a 28 adult who has suffered with severe cystic and regular acne. Literally NOTHING worked for me until I finally decided to try accutane when I was 22. It worked amazingly but then my acne started coming back, and since I didn't get to complete my second session of accutane, that just made it worse. So if you have HORRIBLE acne like me, this definitely works.
