The best graphing calculators are by Texas Instruments
The Ti-84 Plus (now superceded by the Ti-84 Plus CE) does virtually everything one would want for scientific calculation in a hand held portable device. The CE edition goes one better, having a colour display which helps with graphs. Recommended.
