  • Probably on of the best dedicated mp3 players out there

Firstly, this is a quality piece of kit. It feels solid in the hand made from lovely anodized alloy and that is reflected in what it inside. This has a good quality DAC and separate OP amp chip which means it processes sound in a similar way to the best separates audio players. There are no EQ settings - much like high end hi-fi , but you dont need distracting treble/bass controls. The user interface is simple, buttons are high quality and the player is very stable. it is easy to use. It will take 2 x 128gb cards but they are quite expensive. I have two of these , both with cheap ten quid 64gb cards and they work like a chap. It drives full sized headphones with ease, and the separate line out jack connects to your hi fi or car aux jack for superb quality sound. Drag and drop you music onto the micro sd cards, no messing with stupid interfaces like itunes. Sound quality is best described as pure. If you are used to high end separates, you will appreciate it. It doesnt colour the sound, and wav files sound incredible, as do high quality mp3`s. it will also play flac files. I also have the older xduoo X2 which is a lovely player, with some interface issues. This is a whole different level and sounds better than any mp3 player I have heard, including the products of a certain USA fruit based brand. it kicks their efforts into the weeds and shows them for the overpriced efforts they are,

  • Fine for a fairly niche use case

The XDUOO X3 comes with a few qualities that you either definitely want or you don't need - support for FLAC format, a quality DAC and comparatively large storage capacity (dual 128Gb MicroSD cards). Those are basically its selling points, and they only really matter if you're going to be connecting the device to some pretty credible hardware. If you're just going to be using it to listen to mp3s on a pair of earbuds on the bus or in the gym, chances are none of these things are going to make any difference to your life. So, know what you want before you buy. If you do need to transport fairly large quantities of losslessly compressed music and will be connecting the device to hardware which can do it justice, in an environment where it matters then the XDUOO X3 is a great choice. If not, you'll be suffering from a simplistic user interface, low battery life and a lack of options such as custom EQ settings that would probably make more difference to sound quality on cheap equipment than the DAC or compression format.

  • Solid build quality and excellent sound quality for the price.

If you are looking for a substitue for an iPod or MP3 player with multiple playback options and sound equalization, look elsewhere. For the price, you will probably find the screen and playback options way too basic. However, if you want a true HiFi quality player for lossless digital music files such as FLAC or WAV files then this is fantastic value for money. Played through a decent set of earphones or via the line out socket, through a good amp and speakers, the sound is way better than any MP3 player or iPod will manage and good enough to compete with some significantly more expensive HiFi kit.

  • XDUOO X3

For now it is the best player ever. If you also change to Linux Rockbox, which now have lots of function. But you can restart the music player in different way and running original operating system also if you prefer that. Bad things: Not for the moment.

  • Does not work with Windows 10 (2 Versions tried)

This does not work with the latest version of Windows. It is a waste of money if you are using any version of Windows 10. The device is semi recognised but will not allow the transfer of any files.

  • Portable and easy to use

Great quality product, both in terms of sound and build. The 256GB memory storage on twin micro-SD cards means that you can get most, if not all of your favourite music on-board. A bit too large and heavy to run with but most people will use around the house/office anyway. The line output gives the possibility of a neat, compact high quality DAC that can be partnered with an amplifier in any music system.
