The solid and durable Little Martin LX1 six string can be an excellent acoustic guitar choice for the musician on the go. With a scale length of only 23 inches and a 0.6875 inch nut width, this falls into the three quarter-scale category of acoustic guitars. It is also known as a travel or parlor guitar. The fingerboard width at the 12th fret is 2.0625 inches. The body is 15 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 3 inches deep. The patented mortise and-tenon neck joint and modified low oval neck shape can add to the appeal of this instrument's state of the art design. This guitar can also be a great starter instrument for children just learning to play. Its size can also make it a good choice for those who have smaller hands. These people can find the guitar comfortable to play and have an easier time learning where to place their fingers on the frets. This version of the classic Martin acoustic guitar is just like the full size instrument and precisely scaled down. Attractive features on the Martin LX1 include a printed logo head plate, a Richlite fingerboard, and 20 frets. Of these, 14 of the frets are clear. The instrument has a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, a white bridge, and end pins marked with black dots. This guitar is also tough and resistant to the typical wear and tear that comes with travel. All Martin three quarter scale guitars are originally sold in their own padded cases to further protect the acoustic instruments while in storage or in transit. Because the guitar’s wood is thick and high quality, minor dings and scratches won’t distort or otherwise affect the sound. Any audience can be impressed by the rich bass tone. The deeper tone can be a pleasant surprise if you’re expecting an emptier sound out of a smaller guitar. The Martin LX1 has a rosewood bridge, a white Corian nut, and a sweet Mahogany pattern with HPL finish that appears on the sides and back. The instrument also sports a modified 0-14 fret body and chrome ping 14:1 tuners built to stay in place for long periods of time. The guitar comes with steel strings, and when these wear out, you can replace them with Martin M550 Phosphor Bronze strings.The LX1's small size and laminate body can be ideal for bringing your music to the beach and playing for your friends. This guitar played wonderfully right out of the box and stays in tune as well. It has a nice, solid feel as well. I really like Martin tone, and I am really happy. It feels like an old friend. Little Martin
What a wonderful instrument. Well made and sturdy, the craftsmanship is excellent, the wood beautiful. The small size makes it easier for my little hands to play in proper position, but the sound is comparable to a full sized instrument.
